Thanks for seeding this. In light of the Kim family's recent experience, I hope that many people will use some of their leet skillz to bone up on survival tactics.

Most of the answers to the quiz seem like common sense, but in a crisis situation it might be hard to think straight. Though I am not planning any winter driving trips in the near future, thanks to you, I will have this information stored in the back of my mind. A tragic outcome for the Kim family may well save the lives of many others. Thanks for a great post.

Man, I just hope I could keep my cool in a life-or-death situation. None of us ever knows when we can be thrust into crisis situations and what our reactions will be. Thanks for the excellent & timely seed. You never know if this might come in handy for someone some day.

I live in Minnesota and during the winter I always keep a winter survival kit in my car. It consists of a large empty coffee can, matches, candles, energy bars and bottled watter. If stranded you put the candle inside the coffee can and lite it to use as a heat source. Nothing fancy, but inexpensive and effective. I also keep a sleeping bag and blankets in the car. In the past I have also bought MREs.

Everything I know about survival, I learned from the Hardy Boys.
