Philadelphia Eagles: Comings and goings

advertisement

Andy Reid, in his season-ending press conference, put it out there as a matter of fact, and he wasn't breaking new ground.

Asked about his roster for next year and his 11 free agents, the Eagles head coach made it clear that the look of the team changes every year.

"You try to keep most of your guys," Reid said. "There are probably an average of five to 10 guys who won't be here, somewhere in that range. So you have to bring in the right people, draft the right people and re-sign the right people."

This offseason, like most offseasons, the Eagles have decisions to make from what they decide to do with free agents such as quarterback Jeff Garcia and wide receiver Donte' Stallworth to how they fix their defense to what veterans might be asked to leave. Unofficially, the team has about $12.8 million to spend under the salary cap.

The rumor-mongers already are mongering about who stays and who goes, and the spin doctors are already spinning why it all will be good for the team.

Here's a position-by-position look at what the team could and should do over the next few months.
