
PHILADELPHIA — It's not a complete reconstruction like last year. The Eagles need to improve in several areas, and General Manager Tom Heckert thinks most of the players to do it are already here. "Offensively, depending on what happens with (free agent Correll Buckhalter), we might have to go find a guy, and we have to decide on Jeff (Garcia), and if we don't sign Jeff we have to find a third quarterback," Heckert said. "But all the other positions, we think we're OK. Offensively there's probably not a whole lot we need to go out and get. And defensively, it's a lot less of a big deal than it was last year.
"We do have to improve. No doubt about it, we need to get better. But I think it helps us knowing that we don't need to overhaul the whole thing. That makes us optimistic. Especially in the draft, where we don't really need to take any certain position. That will help."
