As many predicted the Philadelphia Eagles have not made headlines by signing any big-name players. They did sign a few defensive linemen and added a wide receiver to replace Donte' Stallworth who is now a Patriot.

Welcome Back

These players re-signed: Correll Buckhalter (RB), Quintin Mikell (DB, special teams), William James (DB), and Juqua Thomas (DE)

Welcome to the Eagles

These players signed with the Eagles:

Montae Reagor, DT

Last with the Colts, he has played eight seasons in the NFL. Last season he only played in 5 games due to a car accident which left him with a head injury.
More info: Montae Reagor good fit for Eagles

Kevin Curtis, WR

Previously with the Rams, he only started 1 game last season. He was their third wide receiver, can he be the Eagles number one receiver?
More info: Eagles add deep threat by signing Kevin Curtis

Say Good-bye to . . .

. . . Jeff Garcia (QB, Tampa Bay), Donte' Stallworth (WR, New England), Shawn Barber (LB, Houston), Rod Hood (CB, Arizona), Michael Lewis (SS, San Francisco).

Just Missed Him

Ryan Fowler (LB) visited Philadelphia and signed an offer sheet with the team, then promptly changed his mind and signed with the Titans a day or two later.

Still Looking for a Team

Eagles free agents Reno Mahe (RB) and Koy Detmer (QB) still have not signed with a team. Detmer's career is over, Mahe's is also probably done too.

NFL Draft: April 28, 2008

The Eagles first pick is #26 of the first round, many team watchers expect them to select a defensive back.

Free agency is not over but I thought now would be a good time for a re-cap. I'll update this page if the team signs any players before the draft.

Obviously, the Eagles big move came via the trade with Buffalo. But it sure seems this team has lost more than it has gained during the offseason. Are the Birds expecting someone in house to step into the role Stallworth had? Or are they thinking Curtis inherits that role?

I know fans are excited about Spikes but Montae Reagor just may turn out to be the big off-season move for the Eagles. The Birds need to stop the run better and Montae Reagor as a DT is in the best position to do this. Spikes has played mostly outside linebacker the last few seasons.

As for WR, I think the Eagles are expecting Curtis to be their number one receiver (I have doubts). Also expect to hear more about how good Hank Baskett and Jason Avant are.
