Sunderland gave Liverpool a good match, the game was closer than the score would indicate. Mohamed Sissoko (37') scored in the first half but Liverpool did not notch their second goal until Andriy Voronin (87') scored just before then end of the game.

Arsenal were the better team for most of the match but City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel kept them in the game. Robin Van Persie missed a penalty kick in the second half before Francesc Fabregas (80') netted a goal for the Gunners.

West Ham 1 - 1 Wigan
Late goals by each side result in a draw. Paul Scharner (78') scored for Wigan and Lee Bowyer (81') for West Ham.
Everton 1 - 1 Blackburn
Roque Santa Cruz (15') scored early for the Rovers and James McFadden (78') scored late for Everton.
