Boro and Toons in an entertaining draw. Red Devils defeat Spurs.

Middlesbrough 2 - 2 Newcastle United
This was one of the better match-ups this weekend. For each goal Newcastle scored Boro answered within minutes. Charles N'Zogbia (22') opened the scoring for the Magpies and six minutes later Mido (28') answered for Boro (he was yellow carded for his celebration). Then in the second half Mark Viduka (77') scored for Newcastle and three minutes later Julio Arca (80') equalized for Boro.

Manchester United 1 - 0 Tottenham
Luis Nani (68') scored in the second half to earn the three points for Man Utd.

Liverpool move into the top five as Portsmouth drop out.

Man Utd, Aston Villa and Birmingham move out of the bottom five; they are replaced by Tottenham, Sunderland and Fulham.

Note: no Premier League matches this week but a few teams start League Cup play.
