QB Kelly Holcomb traded.
The rosters in the NFL had to be reduced to 75 players by Monday at 4:00pm ET. To comply the Philadelphia Eagles released six players, put three on Injured Reserve and traded one player.
There were no surprises in the players who were cut, they are K E.J. Cochrane, WR Dereck Faulkner, TE Kyle Hunt, WR Jermaine Jamison, S Chris Smith and G Chris White. See, you never even heard of any of them.
Placed on Injured Reserve were DE Jerome McDougle (triceps), RB Ryan Moats (fractured ankle) and G Stefan Rodgers (Lis franc). Their seasons are over, they will not play this season.
Quarterback Kelly Holcomb was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for an undisclosed draft pick in 2009. The pick is probably conditional on how much Holcomb plays. This was expected. There had been rumors for weeks that the teams were working on a trade. Also the Eagles have three QBs set for the final roster, McNabb, Feeley and Kolb.
September first the rosters have to be reduced to 53 players, then there might be some surprises.
