Premier League Saturday Results

Liverpool decimated Derby to go top of the table. Tottenham blew a two goal lead and settled for a draw. Manchester United defeated Roy Keane's Sunderland.

Saturday Sept. 1, 2007

Fulham 3 - 3 Tottenham
Spurs blew a 2-0 lead then managed to go ahead 3-2 before allowing a last minute score by Fulham's Diomansy Kamara (90') to force the draw. Also scoring for the Cottagers were Clint Dempsey (42') and Alexey Smertin (77'). Younes Kaboul (10'), Dimitar Berbatov (28') and Gareth Bale (61') netted goals for Tottenham.

Reading 0 - 3 West Ham
Craig Bellamy (6') scored early for West Ham and Matthew Etherington (49', 90') added a second half brace to earn the three points for the Hammers. Kevin Doyle (pen miss 77') failed to convert a second half penalty kick.

Newcastle 1 - 0 Wigan
Michael Owen (87') scored late to get the win for Newcastle over a ten-man Wigan. Kevin Kilbane (rc 46') was sent off for Wigan.

Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Birmingham
Two first half goals by David Wheater (12) and Stewart Downing (37') were enough to earn the three points for Boro.

Bolton 1 - 2 Everton
Nicolas Anelka (55') scored again for Bolton but it wasn't enough as Ayegbeni Yakubu (11') and Joleon Lescott (90') scored for Everton.

Liverpool 6 - 0 Derby County
Derby were outclassed by Liverpool who were without Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool goals came from Xabi Alonso (27', 69'), Ryan Babel (45'), Fernando Torres (56', 78') and Andrej Voronin (76').

Manchester United v Sunderland
Louis Saha (72') came into the game after half-time and scored the only goal of the match to ruin Roy Keane's return to Old Trafford.

Arsenal v Portsmouth
8:30am, Setanta Sports.
Pompey have not won at Arsenal since 1955 and the Gunners have not lost yet this season.

Blackburn v Manchester City
10:00am
Rovers have not lost a match this season and have only conceded 2 goals in the process. City are coming off their first loss of the season.

Aston Villa v Chelsea
11:00am, Fox Soccer Channel.
Villa have just one win this season as they host league leading Chelsea.
