
Tonight Las Vegas starts a new season with a two hour episode. Saturday night the 33rd season of Saturday Night Live starts. Sunday night Desperate Housewives begins its fourth season.

Doctor Who, The Sound of Drums. 8:00pm, Sci-Fi.
Part 1 of 2. The Doctor, Martha and Captain Jack arrive in the U.K. as the Master assumes his post as Prime Minister Harold Saxon and delivers a startling announcement to the world. Sharon Osbourne makes a cameo appearance.
Moonlight, No Such Thing as Vampires. 9:00pm, CBS.
Debut: "Undead" private investigator Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) helps the living, instead of feeding on them, by using his acute vampire senses. In the opener, Mick probes the vampire-like murder of a college student and reconnects with a woman (Sophia Myles) from his past, who is now an investigative reporter. It's soon learned that the victim was taking an ancient mythologies class taught by a man who claims he's a vampire.
Las Vegas, A Hero Ain't Nothin' but a Sandwich; Shrink Rap. 9:00pm, CBS.
In the Season 5 opener, the casino staffers attempt to solve the murder of Mary's father while investigating the brazen robbery of the Montecito. Meanwhile, Sam tries to escape from her kidnapper, and the new, enigmatic Montecito owner (Tom Selleck) arrives. 2 hrs.
Flash Gordon, Alliances. 9:00pm, Sci-Fi.
Flash, Baylin and Zarkov visit the Verden on Mongo, where Flash learns more about his father from their leader, Barin (Steve Bacic); Ming has plans for Barin and Aura.
Human Weapon, MMA: America's Extreme Fighting. 10:00pm, History Channel.
American Mixed Martial Arts and its growing popularity is examined.
Stargate Atlantis, Adrift. 10:00pm, SciFi.
Season 4 begins as Dr. Weir clings to life and Dr. McKay tries to save Atlantis, which is badly damaged and lost in space after the Replicator attack.

Season 9 opens with the mystery surrounding a woman (Cynthia Nixon) with multiple personalities who may have harmed her infant daughter. As Stabler and Benson investigate the case, they discover the woman herself may have been abused as a child, resulting in her fractured psyche. Meanwhile, Munch is put in charge of the department after the captain is temporarily removed from duty. Bronson Pinchot guest stars.
Saturday Night Live, LeBron James; Kanye West. 11:30pm, NBC.
The NBA's LeBron James hosts the 33rd-season opener of the Saturday-night sketch staple. Kanye West is the musical guest. The cast includes Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Bill Hader, Darrell Hammond, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis, Kenan Thompson and Kristen Wiig.

The War, FUBAR (September 1944-December 1944). 8:00pm, PBS.
By September 1944, Allied success in Europe leads some to believe the war will soon end, but U.S. and British forces on the German border face a fuel shortage; a plan to drop airborne troops behind enemy lines goes awry; and the Battle of Hurtgen Forest results in many casualties. Also: The Japanese-American 442nd Regimental Combat Team endures brutal combat in the Vosges Mountains; and in the Pacific, the Battle of Peleliu rages and MacArthur returns to the Philippines.
The Simpsons, The Homer of Seville. 8:00pm, Fox.
A freak accident gives Homer an operatic singing voice, and he becomes a star at the Springfield Opera. But with fame and fortune comes a price: He's continually bothered by fans, an obsessed woman in particular. Voices include Placido Domingo as himself.
Sunday Night Football, Eagles at Giants. 8:15pm, NBC.
Philadelphia at New York Giants. The Eagles took two of three meetings with their division rivals last year, including a 23-20 win in the playoffs. David Akers hit a 38-yard field goal with no time left on the clock for that victory.
Desperate Housewives, Now You Know. 9:00pm, ABC.
As the fourth season begins, former Wisteria Lane resident Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) moves back onto the cul-de-sac with her new husband, Adam (Nathan Fillion), a gynecologist who treats Susan, and her daughter, Dylan (Lyndsy Fonseca), who can't remember her onetime best friend Julie. Meanwhile, news about Edie spreads, and Lynette's chemotherapy is wearing her down. As is the fact that she's keeping her cancer a secret. Bree's secret---her fake pregnancy---is also becoming a problem.
Cold Case, That Woman. 9:00pm, CBS.
Lilly reopens the 1998 murder investigation of an allegedly promiscuous 15-year-old girl who was beaten to death. The case is given new life when the victim's tank top is discovered in an abandoned van. Mackenzie Phillips guest stars.
Family Guy, Movin' Out (Brian's Song). 9:00pm, Fox.
Brian and Jillian (Drew Barrymore) move into an apartment together. Stewie soon joins them, to help with the rent. Meanwhile, Meg starts working in a convenience store and gets a job there for Chris, who hits it off famously with the manager. This is not a positive development for Meg.
Shark, For Whom the Skel Rolls. 10:00pm, CBS.
Sebastian reopens the murder investigation of Isaac's fiancée from four years ago because he believes the person responsible for the crime isn't the one who was convicted. But Sebastian doesn't tell Isaac the news and he forbids Raina, who is dating Isaac, from informing him.
