No matter how the Eagles try to frame it, they've missed the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.
In spite of the way Andy Reid and some of his players are carrying on, victories over the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints puffing their chests, the Eagles are 7-8 in this, their 75th anniversary season.
The reality is these Eagles are one defeat from their second losing season in three years when they take the field here today against the Buffalo Bills, not, as some factions contend, a team that playoff opponents would fear.
Yet Eagles ownership and management will keep telling us how great they are.

Yeah. This is true. But then almost all NFL teams do that with their fans...well, except maybe Dolphin fans. Miami fans had it tough this year. The perfect (regular) season is no longer exclusively theirs. They only won a single game all year. And they lost in the first-ever regular season NFL game played in London.
But believe or not, Miami fans still have one last little ray of hope to salvage something out of 2007. If New England fails to win the Super Bowl, Miami can still say their 1972 season was a lot more 'perfect' than New England's. ...
