Friday

Price Is Right, special, 1 hr., 8:00pm, CBS.
'Come on down!' Contestants guess retail values for prizes on TV's longest-running game show. Bob Barker racked up over a dozen hosting Emmys since CBS first aired the daytime staple in 1972, though it originated with Bill Cullen on NBC (1956-63) and ABC (1963-65). However, it was the genial, ageless Barker who really sold viewers on the show, which spawned several syndicated offshoots and a string of prime-time specials. When Barker retired in 2007, Drew Carey stepped in to ably fill his shoes.

Monk, Mr. Monk is on the Run, Part II . 9:00pm, USA.
After being falsely arrested for murder, a presumed dead Monk must find a way to clear his name; Natalie sets up a memorial service.

Most Haunted, Tatton Park Mansion. 10:00pm, Travel Channel.

Stargate Atlantis, The Kindred, Part 1. 10:00pm, Sci-Fi.
Humans living in the Pegasus galaxy fear getting sick when a strange illness begins affecting several residents; Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) is visited by the father of her child in a vision, and she and Sheppard go on a mission.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

A slow weekend unless you like movie awards shows.

And if you haven't heard, it looks like Las Vegas is cancelled. What happens in Vegas...gets cancelled by NBC . So Friday nights will be less interesting.

I like CSI too, but it's not the same as Las Vegas. One's more drama, one's more fun.

BTW, did anyone notice in Knight Rider that when they left Vegas, they drove out of the Monticetto parking lot?

Alison Steadman is a good Mrs. Bennett. She, like Mr. Collins, is easy to dislike.

I love Pride and Prejudice.

Jane Austen was the 19th century equivalent of Anne Tyler.

I'm wondering at the politicization of that movie awards show. I'm betting they'll all speak up about paying a greater share of the tax burden, along with all those other rich folks.
