The Eagles rarely have been big players in the free-agent market, and they've chosen poorly more often than not when they have tried to improve their team that way.
And that's why the Eagles aren't expected to do much shopping when the market opens today. Recent history shows they're more likely to make a trade to upgrade, like they've done in the past few seasons with wide receivers Terrell Owens and Donte Stallworth and linebacker Takeo Spikes.
Don't look for Eagles to land free-agent prize
