Price Is Right, special, 1 hr., 8:00pm, CBS.
'Come on down!' Contestants guess retail values for prizes on TV's longest-running game show. Bob Barker racked up over a dozen hosting Emmys since CBS first aired the daytime staple in 1972, though it originated with Bill Cullen on NBC (1956-63) and ABC (1963-65). However, it was the genial, ageless Barker who really sold viewers on the show, which spawned several syndicated offshoots and a string of prime-time specials. When Barker retired in 2007, Drew Carey stepped in to ably fill his shoes.
The Day of the Jackal, 1973 movie, 2½ hrs., 8:00pm, TCM.

And as Peter's drinking spirals out of control, so does Brian's self-restraint as he professes his undying love for Lois.
Oprah's Big Give. 9:00pm, ABC.
Debut: Contestants vie to give money and other resources away creatively (how they can get the most bang for their bucks) and with dedication (how much they are seen as wanting to help others). The eight-part series begins in Los Angeles, where the 10 contestants are paired off and given five days (and $2500) to change a person's life. Based on an installment of Oprah's daytime show in which she gave audience members $1000 and told them to use it for charitable endeavors. Nate Berkus hosts.
Unhitched, Pilot. 9:30pm, Fox.
Debut: Love doesn't come easily for four Boston thirtysomethings (Craig Bierko, Rashida Jones, Shaun Majumder, Johnny Sneed) reentering the dating scene. In the opener, Jack "Gator" Gately (Bierko) has a blind date that goes well---perhaps too well; Kate (Jones) goes out with a player for the Boston Celtics; and Freddy (Majumder) discovers that if romance doesn't come easily, it isn't cheap, either. NBA players Paul Pierce and Ryan Gomes have cameos.
Dexter, The Popping Cherry. 10:00pm, CBS.
The Ice Truck Killer strikes again and new homicide officer Debra is assigned the case, but she gets reprimanded for violating the chain of command; flashbacks offer insight into Dexter's homicidal tendencies and take him back to his first time "taking out the garbage"; Doakes gets on the bad side of a drug kingpin.
