The Eagles continued tweaking the middle of the roster yesterday, adding depth at tight end by signing veteran Kris Wilson to a three-year deal.
In four years playing mainly tight end but also fullback and occasionally H-back with the Chiefs, Wilson caught 42 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns. He had a career-high 24 catches for 180 yards and a TD last year.
With L.J. Smith and Brent Celek set at the No. 1 and No. 2 tight end spots, Wilson will presumably replace free agent disappoint Matt Schobel, who has just 25 receptions in two seasons since signing a five-year deal after the 2005 season.
I'd say this is the final piece the Eagles need to win the Super Bowl but I'm not stupid or a lap dog of the team. Kris Wilson seems like another Jack of a all trades (master of none) who will play special teams and maybe a play or two here and there.
