Chivas de Guadalajara won a close match over DC United and the Houston Dynamo won easily over Atlante.
DC United 1 - 2 CD Guadalajara
Gonzalo Pineda's second half goal was the winner.
Both sides started the match playing fast with a few hard tackles by each team. Things settled down a bit after five minutes or so as Chivas seemed to have the upper hand. They controlled play and the ball spent most of its time in the DC United side of the field. However despite this Luciano Emilio came close to opening the scoring for United but his shot in the eighth minute clanged off the near post.
In the twenty-fourth minute Omar Arellano Riverón got the ball just past midfield and dribbled past two Houston defenders as they fell to the ground. He went in with support to his right but shot and scored himself to put Chivas ahead 1 - 0. During the last eight or ten minutes of the first half DC United played much better but the score at the break was 1 - 0 in favor of Guadalajara.
At the start of the second half DC United picked up right where they left off. In the fifty-sixth minute Devon McTavish struck post for United but in the seventy-first minute Gonzalo Pineda scored for Chivas. He took a free kick and netted another goal for Chivas to make the score 2 - 0 in favor of Guadalajara. United did not just give up and continued to push forward and four minutes later Luciano Emilio scored for DC United. He got the ball about 7 yards in front of goal with several defenders around him but somehow managed to poke the ball forward into the open. Then he spun clear of the defenders and knocked the ball past the goalkeeper for the goal. A few minutes later Luciano Emilio was taken down in the penalty area but Jaime Moreno failed to convert the penalty kick to equalize for DC United. The remaining time of the match United tried and tried to net the tying goal but the game ended 2 - 1 in favor of CD Guadalajara.

Houston Dynamo 4 - 0 Atlante FC
Stuart Holden brace helps Dynamo to an easy win.
This was not a pretty game to watch. The play of both sides was erratic for most of the match. Houston netted four goals but they seemed like a brief shining moments in a sea of dullness. Dwayne De Rosario opened the scoring in the twentieth minute with a header from a free kick by Brad Davis. A minute later Stuart Holden scored and just that quickly the Dynamo led 2 - 0. Then in the twenty-eighth minute Stuart Holden scored again on a toe-poke volley to increase Houston's lead to 3 - 0 (De Rosario assist). The half ended as Dwayne De Rosario and Javier David Muñoz were shown red cards. De Rosario took offense to a tackle by Javier David Muñoz and things escalated from words to shoving. They will each miss their team's next SuperLiga match. In the second half the pinball-like play resumed and then in the fifty-fifth minute Brian Mullan netted the final goal of the match to put Houston ahead 4 - 0.
