Eva Longoria Parker hosts the 13th annual American Latino Media Arts Awards, taped Aug. 17, 2008, in Pasadena, Cal. In an attempt to cure himself of his obsessive compulsive tendencies, Monk (Tony Shalhoub) agrees to undergo hypnosis, but after the treatment, he is left with a much bigger problem when he reverts to his 9-year-old self.

Discovery Project Earth, Space Sunshield. 9:00pm, Discovery.
Scientists considered the best in their fields of study gather from all over the world to meet with three people having a vision to put a stop to the planet's climate change using methods consider by some to be unconventional. Note: another new episode airs at 10pm, Orbital Power Plant.

psych, Gus Walks into a Bank. 10:00pm, USA.
While visiting the local bank to make a deposit for Shawn, Gus gets caught in the middle of a robbery gone awry and ends up a hostage; while Gus is stuck inside, Shawn joins the Santa Barbara police department to come up with a plan to get him out.

Ask Aida, Pasta In Presto. 12:30pm, Food Network.
In response to a viewer's video question, the host demonstrates the making of several quick, efficient pasta dishes including rigatoni with creamy eggplant and mozzarella, sage butter macaroni with four cheeses, and pasta in citrus-herb sauce.

Guy Off the Hook, Downhome Diner. 1:30pm, Food Network.
The spiky-haired chef, who has been visiting a lot of diners on the road for his other show, applies his unique style to familiar favorites and comes up with pretzel-encrusted chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese with the added richness of bacon.

3:10 to Yuma, 1957 movie, 1¾ hrs., 4:15pm, TCM.
Glenn Ford and Van Heflin in this suspense yarn about one man's efforts to deliver an outlaw to justice. Shrewdly acted and directed (Delmer Daves).

Video Music Awards, special, 2 hrs., 7:00pm, MTV.
Russell Brand hosts the 25th annual Video Music Awards, featuring nominees Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey, with special performances by Rihanna, T.I., Pink, Kid Rock, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne and others. (repeat)

The remaining two houseguests enjoy their final days in the compound.

In the pilot episode, an FBI agent recruits a brilliant but incarcerated scientist (John Noble) and his estranged, sharp-witted son (Joshua Jackson) to investigate an airborne tragedy that may harbinger a trend of increasingly unsettling phenomena.
