As he stepped into the elevator outside of his suite following Sunday's victory against the Seahawks, Dolphins part-owner Stephen Ross said he expects to be able to complete the purchase of the team at the end of this year.

Then, a smile spread across his face, and he made an important clarification.

''Not at the end of the year, but at the end of the season!'' Ross said. ``There's a big difference.''
