Last week Comcast announced that it had reached an agreement with Al Jezeera to carry its new soccer network beIN Sport.
Here's what we know so far.
Soccer Matches
beIN Sport features these leagues: Spanish La Liga (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid), Italian Serie A (Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan), French Ligue 1 (PSG, Lyon).
The network also will have some South American World Cup qualifying matches and US Men's National Team games.
Finally going through the programming grid I see some English Championship League matches.
When will it start?
In a few weeks (see Twitter screen cap below).
Will it be in high definition?
Standard definition to start (see Twitter screen cap below). My guess is first season SD then maybe later HD.
What will it cost?
beIN Sport will be part of the Sports Entertainment package and a Spanish channel will be available in a Spanish language package. If you're a soccer fan then you most likely already have the Sports Entertainment package since it includes Fox Soccer Channel and often Gol TV as well.
Check out beIN Sport's web site for yourself.
Will you be watching soccer matches on the new network?
