SourceBoth athletes' careers are basically over but each is choosing a different ending.
Lance Armstrong has basically given up fighting allegations that he used Performance Enhancing Drugs to win all of those bike races. I had my doubts before but now I think he used PEDs. Regardless of what I believe, I think it's a tacit acknowledgement that he did use. He made his money and fame so now he's just done with the whole mess. Good-bye, thanks for all the fish money.
On the other-hand baseball pitcher Roger Clemens seems concerned with his legacy. This is why he's attempting a come-back at the age of 50. I'm sure he doesn't expect to be a dominating pitcher once again but if he can just make it to the major leagues for one appearance then the clock will re-start on his eligibility for the Hall of Fame. Maybe in another five years the stink of PEDs will have gone away just a bit.
Neither of them is very honorable to me, I just find it a bit interesting how each is dealing the PED allegations at a similar point in their careers.
